God has given us a unique
opportunity to meet a genuine need in our own backyard. McCreary County
is home to one of the most impoverished areas in the entire country. According to U.S. Census Bureau data,
McCreary County is ranked number 21 on the list of counties with highest
poverty rates, with 6,063 people (35.4% of the population) living below the poverty
level. Unemployment rate, as of
last year, stands at 13.3%. In the
midst of this pain, we hope to be a light to our community. We invite you to partner with us in
bringing Christ to this broken area.
God has also blessed us
with facilities to host groups coming to the area to do mission work. Opportunities in the past have included
construction/remodeling work, Backyard Bible Clubs, door-to-door evangelism,
and a variety of different work.
We offer lodging in Elisha’s
Bunkhouse, with facilities to sleep a maximum of 18 adults. The Bunkhouse is located on the same
property as our church, so groups may also have access to the Fellowship Hall,
large professional kitchen, and other spaces as needed.
Basic rates for the
bunkhouse are as follows:
Weekly (Saturday to Saturday)
$50 per person (18 person
maximum), with a minimum of $500 for the week
Less than a 7 night stay
Teams of 1-10: $75 per
night per group
Teams of 11-18: $150 per
night per group

setting up your stay or general information about missions in the area please contact Darrell or Debbie Hansford via email or phone (606) 310-1475.
